Goal: lose 10-12 lbs, and Keep it Off !

The Dukan Diet: What Is It? --Often described as the French version of the Atkins Diet, the Dukan Diet emphasizes meals that are high-protein, low-carb, and low-fat. The diet is designed so that you won’t feel hungry — you can choose from 100 different foods and you're allowed to eat as much of them as you want — and you don’t have to count calories. Its biggest draw is its pronto weight-loss promise: that you can lose up to seven to 10 pounds in the first five days — and keep them off. --from EverydayHealth.com

--- Attack Phase ---

Phase 1: Attack is all about protein, protein, and more protein. You can eat unlimited lean meat, poultry, lean ham, organ meats, fish and seafood, eggs, and nonfat dairy (except no cheese). This phase, as well as the next three phases, also requires drinking six cups of water a day. You also take a 20-minute walk every day. In this phase and the next two phases, you eat one and a half tablespoons of oat bran daily (Dukan says it helps people feel full). You can stay in this phase for one to 10 days, depending on how much weight you want to lose. According to Dukan, most people stay in the Attack phase for five days and lose four to seven pounds. --from EverydayHealth.com

As per The Dukan Diet: 2 Steps to Lose the Weight, 2 Steps to Keep It Off Forever, I should only be in the "Attack Phase" for 3 days, since I have less than 20 lbs to lose. :)

Yes! I am going to drop 10+ lbs with the The Dukan Diet: 2 Steps to Lose the Weight, 2 Steps to Keep It Off Forever. I can do this! :)

Woke up with a brand new attitude on the Hottest day of the year, so far! I don't need to lose a lot of weight, just 10-12 pesky lbs that are keeping me from feeling/looking top notch -- if ya know what I mean.

No measuring, no calorie counting, all the meat one would want to eat, drink lots of water, eat a little Oat Bran, do a little daily exercise and take a daily multi vitamin. Seems easy enough.

Pre-cooked chicken (in the slow cooker), yesterday, and slid it in the refrigerator. I just like my chicken cold, and ready when I'm hungry. :) Also hard boiled a few eggs -- they also taste best cold. :)

I did not feel obligated to sit down to a structured meal at a certain time, today -- just because this is the way it has been done for centuries. I, simply, ate when hungry, and left it like that. I liked that!

Tip: I put the 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of Oat Bran (the required amount for the Attack Phase) in a little custard dish and rolled my hard boiled eggs and bits of grilled chicken in it...hmmm, tasted pretty good -- and, I got to play with my food! :)

Surprisingly, I didn't feel all that hungry today -- and, when I did eat...it didn't take long before I felt stuffed! Must be the pure protein diet? I swear, I usually never feel stuffed until I eat a half a bag of Fritos! 'just saying...

What did I eat today? grilled chicken drumsticks and breast, hard boiled eggs, oat bran, coffee, PepsiMax cola, a chewable Centrum Multi vitamin and lots of water.

Now, I'm off to do 30 minutes on the Recumbent Exercise Bike -- which is 10 minutes more than is required. *lights scented candle and looks around for mp3 player*

p.s. can't wait for my first weigh-in tomorrow morning... :)

*strips naked, removes all jewelry, hops on digital scale* YES! :) 2.6 lbs lost in One Day with the Dukan Diet! *does a little dance* My goal is 10-12 lbs ...I'm almost there!! *admires non-bloated tummy* :)

Well, within the past 24 hours, I must have gone pee-pee at least a hundred times. :| Must be the Attack Phase of the Diet. Also, I have no bloat or gas.

Surprisingly, I didn't wake up hungry. Had a little breakfast, anyway, hard boiled egg, oat bran mixed with non fat milk, a chewable multi vitamin and a cup of coffee.

What did I eat today? a large grilled chicken breast and a couple of grilled chicken drumsticks (with the skin peeled off), hard boiled eggs, oat bran, tuna packed in water, coffee, a diet Mug RootBeer, a chewable multi vitamin and lots of water.

My cats really like this diet -- i.e. the scent of tuna and chicken permeating the air for the past two days. Friends to the End! :)

I'm off to do 30 minutes on the Recumbent Exercise Bike as soon as this Mega ThunderStorm, with rain wrapped tornados, passes through and I can plug it into the wall. :|

*strips naked, removes all jewelry, hops on digital scale* YES! :) 1.6 lbs lost. For a grand total of 4.2 lbs in two days! Not really believing this! Stands on scale two more times, just to make sure. Yep, the figures are correct! *does a little twirl*

Put two thick butterfly pork chops in slow cooker, seasoned well, added a little water -- spray with Pam, lid on, turn on high. Later! :)

Now for breakfast -- today, I am a bit hungry. Egg over easy, oat bran with non fat milk, (give cats a little milk -- they are turning into my "Biggest Fans"), chewable multi vitamin and 2 large cups of coffee. btw, coffee actually counts as part of one's required daily quart and a half of water -- so does tea, diet colas...etc.

What did I eat today? grilled butterfly pork chop ( delicious ), hard boiled egg, egg over easy, oat bran with non fat milk, grilled chicken drumsticks, a chewable multi vitamin, coffee, Diet Rite cola, lots of water.

Today, I didn't seem to crave Fritos, Cheetos or smoked Almonds, my all time Favorite things to snack on... *pinches self to see if still conscious* Ouch! yes, I am still here. :)

I'm starting to get a little tired of eggs and chicken, but can get used to it -- they are cheap, easy to fix and keep in the refrigerator well (for a few days, so one can fix a lot and not run out of Protein, which "all" Phases of The Dukan Diet: 2 Steps to Lose the Weight, 2 Steps to Keep It Off Forever call for).

Looking forward to Phase Two, wherein one is allowed to eat all the vegetables and meat one wants...

Think I'll skip my 30 minute walk, today. Feel like watching a movie, instead -- something old, like Heat with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro. :)
